ROHDEA PACHYNEMA

Rohdea pachynema is a beautifully understated evergreen perennial, ideal for bringing texture and intrigue to shaded garden spaces. Its glossy, dark green strap-like leaves feature a subtle pale midstripe, adding refined visual interest even when not in flower. From late summer through spring (AugApr), unusual spikes of green and black flowers emerge, later giving way to vivid orange berries that nestle among the foliage from May to September. Compact and slow-growing at around 20cm, this plant thrives in dry or dappled shade and is perfect for woodland borders, underplanting, or shaded containers.
